At New Hope Clinic, our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. They play essential roles in ensuring we provide safe, legal, efficient, and compassionate patient-centered care everyday. Below are the steps for you to get started. Help bring quality healthcare to those in need!
Fill-out and Submit a Volunteer Application (online or paper version at the clinic)
Receive a Call or Email from Our Volunteer Coordinator
Application & References Approval (licenses verified if applicable)
Attend a Privacy & Safety Orientation
Complete Training & Shadowing for Your Role
Sign-up for Shifts Online (commit to at least two 4-hour shifts per month)

Practitioners

Practitioners (Primary Care & Specialties) – Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants (NC License required)

Pro Bono Providers

Pro Bono Providers – Treat NHC-referred patients at your own office

Nurses

Nurses (RNs, LPNs) – Triage, patient histories, basic lab tests, education

Unlicensed Assistive Personnel

Unlicensed Assistive Personnel – EMTs, inactive RNs/LPNs, Medical Assistants (under RN supervision)

Dentists, Hygienists & Dental Assistants

Dentists, Hygienists & Dental Assistants – Exams, x-rays, cleanings, extractions

Pharmacists & Pharmacy Techs

Pharmacists & Pharmacy Techs – Fill prescriptions, counsel patients

Front Desk & Reception

Front Desk & Reception – Check-in, schedule appointments, data entry

Medical Records & Administration

Medical Records & Administration – File reports, convert records to digital

IT & Database Support

IT & Database Support – Website updates, computer maintenance, security

Community Outreach & Marketing

Community Outreach & Marketing – Promote NHC, recruit volunteers & patients

Interpreters / Translators

Interpreters/Translators – Assist Spanish-speaking patients

Eligibility Specialists

Eligibility Specialists – Assist applicants & manage patient eligibility

Board of Directors

Board of Directors – Provide leadership & support for NHC

Volunteer & Event Coordinators

Volunteer & Event Coordinators – Organize fundraising & appreciation events
